My summer travels landed me in sunny Napa, California, where I was able to spend some quality time with old friends.
Free Trial
We'll start with the big news: Anyone can now access a LearnGit.io free trial! The first 2 modules (8 lessons) are included, and the free tier also includes all features such as search, interactive snippets, etc. Especially as the LearnGit.io content catalog expands, it's important to me that people can experience platform firsthand before making a purchasing decision.
If you're not yet a member yet, now is a great time to sign up.
Education
In June, I released a self-service application form for educational discounts. I'm happy to report that, as a result, student sign-ups have increased. Students from Columbia University, University of Texas, NYU, Auburn, USC and more have already joined. I'm excited to see LearnGit.io reach more learners.
In addition to individual student access, LearnGit.io will be the fall semester curriculum for a university course here in the United States. Hopefully I'll be able to share a case study sometime early next year.
If you are an educator interested in adding Git curriculum to your syllabus, please reach out - jack@learngit.io. I'd be more than happy to share LearnGit.io access for your students.
A New Partnership
A lot of you have been asking for interactive coding exercises, but those are quite complicated to build, so I won't be able to produce them for a while. In the meantime, I've partnered with a company that provides this type of learning, and I think you'll find their platform engaging.
It's extremely important to me that any outside company I work with not only has a great product, but is also relevant to my audience. I think I've found both in CodeCrafters.
Specifically, their Build your own Git coding challenge is a great interactive follow up to LearnGit.io's lessons. I've got a special sign up link if you're interested in giving CodeCrafters a shot.
New content!
The first 4 lessons from the Rebase Deconstructed learning track are now live! These lessons cover the theory behind rebase, and the most used rebase workflows. My intent was to release the whole learning track in July; however, the second half of Rebase Deconstructed will be released in August.
Product Hunt
On July 5, I launched on Product Hunt. If you upvoted or commented on the launch, thank you so much! It's a good exercise for me to publicize LearnGit.io on different platforms. Getting the word out (i.e. marketing) isn't my strongest skill, so if you have any suggestions on how to increase LearnGit.io's reach, please let me know.
