TL;DR: LearnGit.io is now free for students and educators. Apply using this form, and please help spread the word! A share on Reddit, Discord, or with your classmates would be much appreciated.

If you're an educator, email me: jack@learngit.io. I'd be happy to generate a voucher code for your entire class.

With October around the corner, classrooms are filling up, and I’m reminded of my own time in university. I’d never used version control before, and Git felt overwhelming. I wish LearnGit.io (and my YouTube channel) had been around to help.

Ten years later—with a decade of professional experience and nearly as long creating content—I’ve been reflecting on what the next decade should look like. I honestly have no idea, but what I do know is that the most rewarding part of teaching is feedback like this:

"You have a talent for making complex or niche topics accessible and entertaining, it is captivating and holds my attention from start to finish. Keep up the good work. Thank you!" - @buzzreminder

"I've been working with git for all professional career and I've never intuitively understood rebase until this video. Much respect" - @warren-cga

Feedback like this really brightens my day—even when I’ve sunk 30 hours into animating an obscure Git feature and start questioning my life choices. At the end of the day, it’s about sparking those “a-ha” moments.

To that end, I'm updating LearnGit.io's pricing model to be free for students and teachers. Any full or part-time student enrolled in an accredited program can apply via this form (using a school email or proof of enrollment). Teachers, email me for free class-wide vouchers: jack@learngit.io.

For everyone else, LearnGit.io will remain a paid resource—it isn’t cheap to maintain; however, your support not only sustains the platform, but helps subsidize free access for young learners. Thank you again if you choose to purchase a license - it really really helps.

Finally, if you've read this far, it would be much appreciated to spread the word with folks in your network, or with communities you frequent. In the coming years, I hope LearnGit.io evolves into a go-to resource for the Git community.
